Today is 11/11/11, a symbolic day filled with weddings, wishes, and Adam Sandler movies. But remember that each day only exists once in history. Therefore, everyday is special. What is tomorrow? To me, its another chance, another opportunity, another test. No matter what your struggles are, I believe that if you push on until tomorrow, there’s always the chance that you will overcome your greatest obstacles. As long as there’s tomorrow, there’s hope.
I’ve never seen so many active and fit people in one area before…Honestly, if you are looking to get fit in college (want to move out-of-state & not quite Ivy League material…), consider University of Boulder, Colorado! It’s right at the foot of the mountains, close to beautiful and challenging hiking trails, and the most wonderful farmer’s market around!
So lucky to have visited!

I felt like SUCH a dork and noob tourist renting one of these Bike-Share bikes…Especially biking around Boulder, CO at 5430 ft above sea level gasping for breath. The bike is really heavy so going up hills towards Chautauqua Park to hike was challenging for me, a San Diego sea level dweller. I also rented one in Madison, Wisconsin!
Renting a bike (no matter how lame it looks) is a great way to use your vacation time to be more active, see lots of sights, and experience a new place! I won’t take a taxi if I can help it!
When you’re in a new situation, be flexible and open to new fitness ideas =)
Something I have to remember. You are unique, physically and mentally. We all have things we are good at, personality quirks, and flaws. Some people may take longer to get to their goals, but they will learn different lessons along the way. Try not to compare yourself so much to your classmates, friends, competitors (or other people on tumblr) because their success has no impact on what you can achieve.
So relax, be happy, give thanks.
Honestly…don’t you already know what a Kit-Kat, Twix, Reeses Peanut Butter cup tastes like? Can you even count how many Milky Ways or Butterfingers you’ve had in your life? Do M&M’s even taste like chocolate?? I swear, I can only taste the sugar coating. Then why bother eating these low quality candies which just taste like spoonfuls of sugar and butter?
Halloween and fall has so many more treats to offer such as sweet pumpkins! Some no-fuss recipes I’d like to try are:
Spending time outdoors is a great way to spend quality time with your family. Taking a hike with cousins you never see allows you to catch up and bond, while hanging out with mom for an afternoon is a great way to help her relieve some stress and to make memories. Take advantage of the fall weather while you can before winter sets in! This was a beautiful October afternoon hiking in Boulder, Colorado. Oh and while you are traveling, dedicate your leisure time to an outdoors adventure!
Personal note: Hiking, especially downhill, is challenging for me because I’m short =/ It’s stressful going downhill since I’m always watching where I’m stepping. Sometimes, I have to sit down to descend from rocks.
Personal goal: One of my goals starting January 2012 when I move back home is go on a walk with my mom at least 3 times a week, and to bike with my dad one weekends. They don’t have anyone to exercise with so they never feel motivated to go out themselves.
