Hi! No I won’t be older than my peers; I took one gap year, but started school early as a kid. You won’t be much older either! At Second Look weekend, there were potential students from all backgrounds. Some were over 24, married, did research for a few years, traveled and worked abroad…you name it! The diversity of a medical school’s class is so inspiring. I would say 40% are straight out of college, 35% have one gap year, and 25% have more exciting backgrounds! Also, everyone seemed really mature and even the younger students are wise beyond their years. The 2nd years which helped out at Second Look weren’t all the same age and they seemed really close too. Congratulations on medical school! SO excited!!!
